Musoma Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (MUWASA) is a utility established in 1997 as Water Supply Department under an Advisory Board and was declared an Authority under an Executive Board in accordance with Act. No. 8 of 1997 effective January 1998. Muwasa was established with the Objective of supplying Water and removal of Waste Water in Musoma Municipality in a Sustainable manner through revenue accruing from delivery of these Service. It is working under the guidance of Board of Directors appointed by the Minister responsible for water composed of Ten members and Managing Director being the Secretary of the Board.

BILLS PAYMENT METHODS

Muwasa has Three different paying stations namely:

  1. MUWASA Head Office
  2. CRDB Bank and their Agents namely FAHARI HUDUMA

Customer must visit CRDB Bank/ Fahari Huduma together with his/her water billing invoice for more information required during payments.

3. NMB Bank.

Customer must visit NMB Bank together with his/her water billing invoice for more information required during payments.

New water connection

Application for New Water Connections

    1. Musoma Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority
      (MUWASA) has procedures for the new Customers who wish to be connected with Water network as follows:
    2. A new customer who wants to be connected with water services is supposed to fill the application form. These forms are available at our office free of charge.
    3. After filling the application form, we MUWASA will survey the customer premise to identify the point of connection and materials required for connection.
    4. Then the Customers will make payments as the connection fee and then purchase the required connection materials and fittings from any suppliers and must meet the quality needed by MUWASA.
    5. The last step is to make connection and this job is done by the Zone Officers.

Billing Procedure

  1. From 22nd / 23rd to 27th Meter reading starts to all Customer
  2. From 28th to 29th Meter reading Verification
  3. 30th / 31st Billing Date.
  4. From 1st to 5th Bill Distribution to All Customer.
